itineraries
Leaving from Senigallia we discover the most beautiful villages of the Province of Ancona.
The tour starts from Piazza del Duca (Duke's Square), so called because of the presence of the homonymous Palazzo del Duca (Duke's Palace) which was built around the middle of the 16th century by Guidobaldo II della Rovere and later expanded by his son Francesco Maria II, carried out by the painter Taddeo Zuccari. On the side opposite to the the palace there is the imposing Roveresca fortress, a medieval castle symbol of Renaissance Culture. The Palazzetto Baviera (Bavarian Palace) reflects the Renaissance style of the Square, valuable stuccoes painted by Federico Brandani at the end of the 16th century can be admired in its interiors. In Senigallia different museums can be visited as the Pio IX Museum, located in the Palazzo Mastai Ferretti to remember the life of Pope Pius IX who was born in this very town. We also recommend a visit to the Municipal Museum of Modern Art and Information. Only 3 kilometres away from Senigallia, you can visit the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, which houses in its interiors an important work by the painter Perugino:"Madonna in trono e santi” (Madonna Enthroned with Saints).

Leaving the Riviera we discover:
CORINALDO
The town of Corinaldo was centre of feudal struggles until 1360, when it was totally destroyed by the papal army of Innocent VI. It was rebuilt incorporating several villages which stood around its original unit, and strengthening the city walls that defended the city by subsequent attacks. Visiting Corinaldo it is worth to get lost in its many alleys, fascinated by the beauty of some corners and unique visuals. Corinaldo opens with a flight of 100 steps leading to the central square, at this point you can choose whether to follow the long walls or enter the heart of the village through the narrow alleys. The 18 metres high Torre Sperone (Spur Tower) and the 15 meters high Torre dello Scorticatore (Skinner Tower) are of a great visual impact. Worth of attention are the Town Hall with its Neoclassical Architecture and the Municipal Theatre dedicated to Carlo Goldoni. Many are the churches, including: the Collegiata di San Francesco (Collegiate Church of St. Francis), the Santuario di Santa Maria Goretti (Santa Maria Goretti Sanctuary) and the Chiesa del Suffragio (Suffrage Church).
Corinaldo is also known for the famous Halloween Party that attracts many visitors and celebrities of the show, during which the whole town shares the same fancy dress theme.

OSTRA VETERE
It stands on a hill, 252 meters above the sea level. Like all medieval towns Ostra Vetere has high walls surrounding the town, a central square from which it starts a series of alleys, steps and arcades, and the gates that define the old town: Porta Pesa, Porta Nuova and Porta Santa Croce.
The church of Santa Maria della Piazza (St. Mary of the Square) is on an overlooking position with its high steeples, symbol of the town. Built in the early twentieth century, it reminds Neo-Gothic style. We recommend visiting the church of Santa Lucia rich in its interiors of Baroque decorations , the Chiesa del Crocifisso (Crucifix Church) and finally, the church of Santa Croce.
In the historical center you can visit different important buildings, such as: the Town Hall with its many paintings from different periods, the Buti Palace and the Mauruzi Palace, and the former monastery complex of San Francesco.
