Senigallia's velvet beach: facilities and entertainment
In 1997 the popular Senigallia Velvet Beach was awarded a Blue Flag, synonymous with high quality and commitment. Soft sand, a wide shoreline and shallow waters make this particularly suitable for little children and for taking long walks on the shore.
Situated right in front of the hotel, the beach has sun loungers, deck chairs and sun umbrellas, plus there is a children's play area, warm showers and changing rooms.
Right by our hotel stands the Senigallia Pier, a wonderful piece of architecture that has recently been restored and each year plays host to some of the town's major food and wine events and interesting music festivals such as the "Winter Jamboree" and Argentine Tango competitions.
Just a short walk from Hotel Palace you can admire the light-house area and the tourist port, which separates the town's two seafronts. This is also where you can find "Penelope": a work of art by Gianni Guerra that symbolises the artist's love for Senigallia and that has become an emblem of the town.
Early in the mornings the area down by the port is a great place to watch the fishermen returning home with their fresh catches of the day.
